New Delhi / Hyderabad, May 3: Delhi fire accident claimed four lives after a blaze broke out in a residential building in Delhi on Sunday morning. The incident occurred in Vivek Vihar, triggering panic among residents.
According to initial reports, the fire started after an air conditioner exploded on the second floor. As a result, flames spread rapidly to the upper floors. Thick smoke soon engulfed the building, making escape difficult for occupants.
Despite attempts to flee, several residents got trapped inside due to intense heat and smoke. Consequently, four persons died on the spot. Authorities said the identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed.
Delhi fire accident rescue operation saves 15 people

Fire officials rushed to the spot after receiving alerts from locals. They deployed 14 fire engines to control the blaze. Meanwhile, rescue teams launched an intensive operation to save those trapped.
Teams acted swiftly and rescued at least 15 people from the building. They shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said some victims suffered burns and smoke inhalation.
Firefighters worked continuously to bring the flames under control. However, the operation took time due to the intensity of the fire. Later, authorities managed to contain the situation.
Police registered a case and started an investigation into the cause of the accident. Preliminary findings point to the AC explosion as the trigger. However, officials will confirm the exact reason after a detailed probe.
