Revanth Adilabad Tour Cancelled Due to Busy Schedule

Revanth | Hyderabad, May 7: Revanth Adilabad tour cancelled as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy deferred his scheduled visit to Sirpur Kagaznagar constituency in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

The Chief Minister was expected to inspect the proposed Tummidi Hatti project site on the Pranahita River on Thursday. The visit was planned as part of the Pranahita Chevella project review. However, Congress party leaders said the tour was cancelled due to the Chief Minister’s Delhi engagements and other official commitments.

Revanth Adilabad tour cancelled amid project discussions

Party leaders stated that Revanth Reddy may soon meet the Maharashtra Chief Minister regarding the project. After those discussions, a revised tour schedule for Sirpur constituency is likely to be announced.

Congress leaders believe the Tummidi Hatti project could benefit several eastern areas of the united Adilabad district. They said the project may provide irrigation water to nearly one lakh acres across Sirpur, Asifabad, Bellampalli, Mancherial, and Chennur constituencies.

Moreover, leaders argued that a gravity based project at Tummidi Hatti could increase water transfer capacity to the Yellampalli project by nearly 100 TMC. Therefore, the proposed site visit had gained political and regional importance.

The previous BRS government did not proceed with the project due to the construction of the Kaleshwaram project. Meanwhile, Congress leaders continue to push for renewed focus on the proposal.

MLC and Sirpur Congress leader Dande Vittal said a fresh schedule for the Chief Minister’s visit would be announced soon.
