Rohatgi argued that introducing the policy in the middle of the academic year would place additional academic and mental pressure on students. He said the sudden change had created confusion among schools, students and parents.

Petition Challenges Mid Year Implementation

According to the petitioners, the revised CBSE framework requires students to study three languages, including two Indian languages, in Classes 9 and 10.

The plea argued that implementing the policy without adequate preparation or transition time was unreasonable and could affect students academically.

After hearing the submissions, the Supreme Court agreed to take up a detailed hearing on the petition next week.
