Hyderabad, May 25 (Maxim News): A district level coordination meeting with recognised political parties was conducted in Hyderabad to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) schedule announced by the Election Commission of India for Telangana.
The meeting was chaired by Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan along with Additional Commissioner (Election) Chandrakala. Representatives of various political parties from across Hyderabad district attended the programme.
Officials briefed political party representatives about the objectives, timelines and procedures related to the Special Intensive Revision programme, which aims to ensure a fair, transparent and error free electoral roll in the state.
The Election Department urged political parties to actively coordinate with election authorities for the smooth implementation of the revision process.
Political Parties Asked to Appoint BLAs
During the meeting, Commissioner R.V. Karnan highlighted the important role of Booth Level Agents in voter verification and maintaining the accuracy of electoral rolls.
He appealed to all recognised political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents for every polling station across the 15 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district without delay.
Officials said stronger coordination between political parties and election authorities would help improve transparency, accountability and voter participation during the electoral process.

The meeting also focused on ensuring that eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls while eliminating errors and discrepancies during the revision exercise.
Election officials reiterated that cooperation from political parties remains crucial for conducting a transparent and credible voter roll revision process in Hyderabad district.
