Hyderabad, June 6: The Malkajgiri Commissionerate police have initiated action to seal two spa and massage centres for allegedly organizing immoral activities under the guise of wellness services.
The action follows a special enforcement drive conducted to curb illegal activities operating under the cover of body massage centres.
Malkajgiri Police Crack Down on Illegal Spa Operations
According to B. Sumathi, police registered 47 cases during the special operation. Of these, four cases were booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
The Commissioner said investigations revealed that the owners of two massage centres were repeat offenders. As a result, the establishments will be sealed after completing the legal formalities.
Sumathi warned that property owners could also face legal consequences if they fail to properly verify the purpose for which their premises are rented out.
She urged landlords to exercise caution while leasing commercial spaces and ensure that tenants use the premises for legitimate activities.
The Commissioner also appealed to residents to alert police about any suspicious or illegal activities in their neighbourhoods.
Police said the special drives against unlawful operations will continue across the commissionerate to ensure compliance with the law and maintain public order.
