Hyderabad Runners Society Hosts 7th OKKIDS Summer Camp Graduation Run

Hyderabad, June 8, 2026: The Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS) marked the conclusion of the 7th edition of its OKKIDS Summer Camp with a vibrant Graduation Run held at the Telangana State Forest Academy in Dulapally. The event brought together over 1,000 children and their families, celebrating fitness, outdoor learning, and physical literacy.

The OKKIDS Summer Camp, conducted over six weeks during the summer, engaged children from across Hyderabad in structured activities aimed at developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork, confidence, and healthy lifestyle habits through play-based outdoor learning.

The concluding Graduation Run was flagged off by B. Venkataswara Rao, Deputy Conservator of Forests and DDO, Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally, in the presence of senior Hyderabad Runners Society members including Prashant Morparia, Madhumathi Sanjay, Anil Kuppa, Ashish Bhojania, Ajit Mishra, and Ram Katikineni.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of mothers under the “Active Moms” initiative, which encourages women to embrace fitness and run alongside their children. The run saw enthusiastic participation from both children and mothers, highlighting the importance of family involvement in promoting active lifestyles.

The event also included 400 government school students under HRS’s Project Champion initiative, which focuses on improving physical literacy among children from underserved communities by providing structured exposure to sports and fitness activities.

Additionally, children from NGO partners Kadam Charitable Trust and Safee Foundation, along with participants from the Mir Alam Eidgah running community and their mothers, joined the celebrations, making the event highly inclusive.

HRS representatives emphasized that programmes like OKKIDS, Active Moms, and Project Champion play a crucial role in building healthier communities by encouraging regular physical activity and outdoor engagement from a young age.
