New Delhi, July 2: BJP leader Amit Malviya on Wednesday strongly condemned the demolition of the 125 year old Sri Guru Singh Sahib Gurdwara in Farrukhabad, Pakistan, alleging that the neighbouring country had failed to protect the Sikh minority and its heritage.
In a post on X, Malviya said the demolition was not merely an act of vandalism but reflected systematic negligence toward Sikh religious and historical sites. He alleged that symbols of Sikh heritage in Pakistan were being destroyed without justification.
Malviya further alleged that while Pakistani agencies were attempting to influence sections of the Sikh community against India, the country was simultaneously erasing traces of Sikh history, faith and identity.
The BJP leader said the issue highlighted concerns regarding the protection of minority heritage in Pakistan and criticised what he described as a contradictory approach by the Pakistani establishment.
Pakistan has failed its Sikh minorities yet again.

According to reports, a local businessman demolished the historic gurdwara in Farrukhabad in Punjab province. Members of the Sikh community staged protests after the incident.
There were allegations that the demolition was carried out without obtaining a No Objection Certificate from the concerned department. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is reportedly examining the matter.
Punjab Minorities Minister Ramesh Singh Arora has called for the immediate repair of the Sri Guru Singh Sahib Gurdwara and said appropriate action would be taken following the inquiry.
