Hyderabad Advocate murder case | Hyderabad, July 2 (Maxim News): Son of murdered hyderabad advocate Khaja Moizuddin has urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to appoint a Special Public Prosecutor and a Special Investigation Officer to expedite the investigation and trial in his father’s murder case.
He also sought immediate security measures for himself and his family, citing continuing threats and alleged surveillance.
In a representation dated July 1, 2026, Mohammed Sanaullah Farhan, a practicing advocate and son of the deceased, stated that his father, advocate Khaja Moizuddin, was killed in a planned attack on May 23, 2026, outside their residence in Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
According to the representation, Khaja Moizuddin sustained severe injuries after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to enter his car. He later died at a private hospital. Farhan alleged that the murder formed part of a criminal conspiracy linked to disputes involving Waqf properties and litigation handled by his father.
Hyderabad Advocate murder case | Requests for faster investigation and protection
The representation states that FIR No. 206 of 2026 was registered at Nampally Police Station. It says police arrested the two principal accused, identified as Mujahid Alam Khan (A1) and Mahboob Alam Khan (A2), along with others. However, it claims that several alleged accomplices remain absconding.
Farhan alleged that the accused planned the murder because his father actively pursued litigation concerning Waqf institutions and properties, including Anwar Ul Uloom Waqf, Madrassa e Aizza, and Mumtaz Yarud Dowa Waqf. He further claimed that Waqf funds were misused and urged the government to order a high level judicial inquiry into the management of the concerned Waqf properties.
The advocate also requested the government to appoint a Special Public Prosecutor to handle bail petitions, miscellaneous applications, and the trial. In addition, he sought the appointment of a Special Investigation Officer to complete the investigation without delay.
Farhan stated that he submitted representations to the Director General of Police and the Hyderabad Police Commissioner on June 3, 2026, requesting security for himself and his family. However, he claimed that authorities have not communicated any action on those requests. He also said his application for an arms licence remains pending.

The representation further alleges that unidentified individuals monitored his residence in a black Mercedes vehicle. Farhan said he filed a police complaint regarding the incident on May 5, 2026, but claimed investigators have not traced either the vehicle or the persons involved.
He argued that the killing has created concern within the legal fraternity because Khaja Moizuddin was an active practitioner before multiple courts in Hyderabad. Therefore, he appealed for urgent intervention to ensure a speedy investigation, effective prosecution, and protection for the victim’s family.
The representation reflects the demands made by the victim’s family. The Telangana government and investigating agencies have not responded to the specific allegations contained in the document. (Maxim News)
