Hyderabad, Sept. 24: Osmania University has postponed all examinations scheduled for September 25, 2026, following the Telangana government’s declaration of a holiday on Friday due to the Ganesh idol immersion procession.
The decision applies to examinations scheduled for various faculties under the jurisdiction of Osmania University.
According to a press note issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations on September 24, the examinations originally scheduled for September 25 will not be held as planned.

The university said the detailed rescheduled timetable for the postponed examinations will be communicated separately in due course.
Students appearing for examinations under Osmania University have been advised to take note of the postponement and await the revised schedule from the university.
The postponement comes as Hyderabad prepares for the major Ganesh immersion procession. Large-scale arrangements have been made for the movement of processions, traffic management and security across the city.
The Telangana government has declared September 25 a holiday in view of the immersion procession. Other educational and examination bodies have also issued postponement notices for examinations scheduled on the day.
Osmania University has requested all concerned students and stakeholders to take note of the change.
The university will communicate the fresh examination dates once the revised timetable is finalised.
