Telangana Hajj Committee | Hyderabad, July 2 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has appointed Syed Ahsan Hashmi, Deputy Director in the Information and Public Relations Department, as the Executive Officer of the Telangana Haj Committee. The appointment comes through G.O.Rt.No.78, issued by the Minorities Welfare (V&C) Department on July 2, 2026.
The government issued the appointment under Section 29(1) of the Haj Committee Act, 2002. As part of the order, the government relieved Mohd. Asadullah from the full additional charge of Executive Officer, Telangana Haj Committee.
The order states that Syed Ahsan Hashmi will take over the responsibilities of Executive Officer with immediate effect. Accordingly, the Special Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department has been directed to relieve him immediately so that he can assume his new assignment.

In addition to his appointment as Executive Officer of the Telangana Haj Committee, the government has also entrusted Syed Ahsan Hashmi with the in charge Director position at the Telangana Urdu Academy until further orders.
The government directed the Special Commissioner, Information and Public Relations Department, to ensure Hashmi’s immediate relief from his present post. After his relief, he has been instructed to report before the Secretary, Minorities Welfare Department, at the Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad.

The order was issued by B. Shafiullah, Secretary to Government, in the name of the Governor of Telangana.
The latest appointment comes as the Telangana government continues to make administrative changes in departments connected with minority welfare institutions. The Telangana Haj Committee oversees arrangements related to Haj pilgrims from the state, while the Telangana Urdu Academy promotes the Urdu language and literary activities across Telangana.
