India And Japan Target 10 Trillion Yen Investment In 10 Years

New Delhi, July 2: India and Japan have set a target of attracting 10 trillion yen in investment over the next 10 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said after bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in New Delhi.

The announcement came during Takaichi’s three day visit to India. The two leaders held delegation level talks and witnessed the signing of around 120 agreements covering trade, commerce and strategic cooperation.

India and Japan Target 10 Trillion Yen Investment

Prime Minister Modi said the investment target would encourage greater participation by Japanese companies in India while creating new business opportunities for enterprises from both countries.

He said India and Japan continue to strengthen their Special Strategic and Global Partnership through deeper economic and technological cooperation. Modi added that India’s ongoing reforms have improved the investment climate and expanded opportunities for international businesses.

The Prime Minister said the two countries would also enhance cooperation in advanced technologies, batteries, green hydrogen and nuclear energy.

Modi described Prime Minister Takaichi’s visit as the beginning of a new phase in bilateral ties. He said both countries remain committed to promoting a free, open and rules based Indo Pacific while expanding economic and strategic cooperation.
