OBMMS to Expand Self Employment Opportunities
Speaking after launching the portal, Mohammed Azharuddin said the Revanth Reddy government remains committed to the socio economic empowerment of Christian minorities through transparent, citizen friendly welfare programmes. He said the digital platform would simplify the application process while ensuring greater transparency in beneficiary selection.
The minister said the Sewing Machine Scheme would help eligible Christian minority women establish home based tailoring units and become financially independent. He added that the Motor Bike, e-Bike, Scooty and e-Scooter Scheme would support youth engaged in delivery services and other self employment activities. At the same time, the Petty Business Scheme would help aspiring entrepreneurs establish or expand small businesses across the state.
Azharuddin also said the government was focusing on technology driven governance to ensure welfare benefits reached genuine beneficiaries without delays. He added that the schemes reflected the government’s commitment to inclusive development and economic empowerment for Christian minority communities.
The programme was attended by Government Advisor on Minorities Welfare Mohammad Shabbir Ali, TGCMFC Chairman Deepak John, Principal Secretary B. Shafiullah, IFS, Minorities Welfare Department Director Abdul Hameed, IAS, TGCMFC Managing Director P. Sabitha, the Hyderabad District Collector, and senior officials from the Minorities Welfare Department.

Eligible Christian minority applicants can submit their applications online through the OBMMS portal from July 3 to July 18, 2026, until 5 pm.
Applicants aged 21 to 55 years can apply for the Sewing Machine and Petty Business Schemes, while those aged 21 to 50 years are eligible for the Motor Bike, e-Bike, Scooty and e-Scooter Schemes. The annual family income should not exceed Rs 2 lakh in urban areas and Rs 1.5 lakh in rural areas.
The government said applications can be submitted through the OBMMS portal, while beneficiaries can obtain additional information by contacting the TGCMFC helpline or visiting the corporation’s official website. (Maxim News)
