Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) over his remarks on unemployment protests, accusing him of provoking unemployed youth for political gains.
Speaking to reporters in Karimnagar, the minister said the Congress government is committed to fulfilling its promises on job recruitment and urged young people not to be misled by the opposition.
Sridhar Babu Defends Congress Government on Job Recruitment
Sridhar Babu questioned why the previous BRS government failed to conduct the Group 1 examinations properly during its ten-year tenure.
He alleged that the BRS leadership had “played with the lives of unemployed youth” and demanded that its leaders apologise to job aspirants.
The minister asserted that recruitment to government jobs has gained momentum only after the Congress assumed power in Telangana.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to filling two lakh government jobs, as promised by the Congress.
Challenging the opposition, Sridhar Babu asked KTR to release a white paper detailing the number of jobs provided during the BRS government’s ten-year rule.
The minister maintained that the Congress government has consistently stood by unemployed youth and appealed to job aspirants not to fall into what he described as the opposition’s political trap.
His remarks came in response to recent comments made by KTR regarding unemployment and recruitment issues in Telangana.
