Hyderabad, July 24: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday extended birthday wishes to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) while urging him to “speak the truth at least on his birthday.”
Addressing the media, Mahesh Kumar Goud launched a sharp attack on the BRS leadership over student issues, the alleged Globarena controversy and the party’s stand on recent protests.
Criticises KTR and BRS Leadership
Mahesh Kumar Goud said people would not believe KTR merely because he wore black shirts, alleging that “fake love and black shirt dramas” would not influence the public.
Referring to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, he said it did not matter whether the Chief Minister visited Delhi, as he had already participated in protests in Kodangal.
He also criticised former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), alleging that he had not issued a single statement on the student movement. He questioned the BRS leadership over staging protests after allegedly removing the Dharna Chowk during its tenure.
Demands Probe Into Globarena
Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that the Globarena organisation was responsible for the deaths of 27 students and questioned why an earlier report related to the company had not been made public.
He challenged KTR to seek an independent investigation into the allegations, saying that if the government initiated the probe on its own, it would be accused of political bias.
The TPCC chief also alleged that examination paper leaks had occurred during the BRS government’s tenure and claimed that the BJP and BRS were politically aligned.
He further demanded that the BRS provide ₹2 crore in financial assistance to the families of those who allegedly died during the previous government’s tenure.
