Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said television remains one of the most popular entertainment mediums, especially among women and senior citizens. He said the awards would recognise excellence across all sections of the television industry, including artists, technicians, serials, programmes with strong social messages, and children’s productions.

The minister said he would discuss the committee’s proposal to name the awards after former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

He described P.V. Narasimha Rao as a visionary leader, a multilingual scholar, and the architect of India’s economic reforms, adding that the government is open to considering the names of such eminent personalities.

Komatireddy instructed the committee to finalise the guidelines, logo, and award names as soon as possible. He said the logo and branding should clearly represent the spirit, culture, and uniqueness of Telangana.
