Hyderabad, August 10: AR Ameen escaped with minor injuries after his luxury car collided with a cab in Chennai early Monday.
The accident occurred around 3.30 am near Olympia Tech Park on Jawaharlal Nehru Road. Ameen was travelling with a friend towards Guindy when the collision occurred.
According to police, the cab entered the main road from a side road. The two vehicles then collided near the tech park.
Ameen and his friend suffered minor injuries in the A R Ameen car accident. They were taken to a private hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Both were later discharged and returned home. Police said their injuries were not serious.
Police Examine Cause Of Chennai Collision
A passenger travelling in the cab also suffered injuries. The passenger received treatment at Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital and was later discharged.
Meanwhile, the vehicles sustained damage in the collision. The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has started an inquiry into the accident.
Police are examining how the cab entered Jawaharlal Nehru Road. They are also checking whether excessive speed contributed to the collision.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area to reconstruct the sequence of events. They will also record statements from the drivers and occupants.
The accident took place during the early morning hours when traffic was relatively light. Jawaharlal Nehru Road, also known as the Inner Ring Road, is a major traffic corridor in Chennai.
Ameen is the son of Oscar winning music composer A.R. Rahman. He is a singer and performer who has worked on several musical projects.
The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing is continuing its inquiry to determine the exact cause of the collision.
