Lucknow, August 19: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday conducted searches linked to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan’s trust and university.
The searches are part of a money laundering investigation, according to reports.
ED officials searched around 10 locations in Rampur, Saharanpur and Jamia Nagar.
The searches were conducted under CRPF security, with several premises linked to the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust.

Officials also searched the residence of a chartered accountant in Saharanpur.
The premises of two companies and their promoters were also searched. All of them are reportedly linked to the trust.
The investigation involves allegations of diverting government contract funds through private contracts.
The funds were allegedly used for the trust and Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.
Azam Khan and his family members are among the trustees of the organisation’s Lucknow branch.
The trust established Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur in 2006.
Meanwhile, the Rampur Development Authority has ordered the demolition of 38 of the university’s 40 buildings.
Azam Khan is currently serving a jail sentence.
