NIA Raids In Ramagundam Over Suspected Links With Terror Groups

Ramagundam: NIA officials conducted searches at a young man’s residence in Ramagundam of Peddapalli district on suspicion of links with individuals allegedly associated with terrorist organisations.

A team of NIA officials reportedly arrived from Gujarat and carried out the search with court permission. The operation took place early in the morning and created a stir in the locality.

According to reports, the young man is a second-year diploma student from Ramagundam who is currently studying in Peddapalli.

NIA Examines Telegram Group and Digital Links

The searches were reportedly based on information about the student’s Telegram group interactions and online conversations concerning alleged illegal activities.

Investigators are understood to be examining the identities of people associated with the Telegram group and the nature of their communication with the student.

Officials reportedly suspect that some individuals linked to the group may have connections with terrorist organisations. However, there is no official confirmation that the student himself has any criminal or terror-related links.

During the search, officials reportedly examined the student’s digital devices and seized a laptop and mobile phone for further investigation.

Student Asked to Appear for Questioning

The NIA team reportedly directed the student to appear for questioning whenever required as the investigation progresses.

Officials are examining the seized electronic devices and other available information to establish the nature of the student’s online interactions and contacts.

At present, the investigation is continuing, and the authorities have not officially disclosed further details about the case.

The student’s alleged criminal involvement has not been established. Further details are expected only after the investigating agency releases an official statement or confirms the findings of the probe.
