Hyderabad, Sept. 5: The BJP on Saturday said the demolition of a mosque at the Saharanpur Collectorate should not be viewed from a political or religious perspective.
The Uttar Pradesh administration demolished the mosque earlier in the day after a court rejected an appeal filed by the Muslim side.
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said government agencies were acting according to the law.
BJP Comments on Saharanpur Mosque Demolition
Addressing a press conference, Trivedi said there was no need to view the action politically or through the religious identity of the structure.
He said any building should instead be assessed based on whether it was legal or illegal.
Meanwhile, Trivedi also commented on the investigation into alleged exam irregularities involving the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
He said the probe had revealed what he described as the “true reality” of the Congress led INDIA bloc regarding students’ interests.
