Hyderabad, Sept. 6: Ten female students have allegedly complained against a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) over sexual harassment.
The students reportedly approached the university’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) about the alleged misconduct. An inquiry is reportedly underway.
According to the complaint, the professor allegedly called female students to his residence for private meetings.
The students further alleged that he behaved inappropriately during these meetings and used obscene language while teaching in the classroom.
The students reportedly raised the allegations with the university about a month ago. University authorities are examining the complaint.
JNU Committee Probes Sexual Harassment Allegations
The students have sought action over the alleged harassment. However, it remains unclear whether a police complaint has been filed.
The university is yet to publicly disclose the findings of the inquiry or any action taken against the professor.
