Hyderabad, Sept. 7 (Maxim News): The India Meteorological Department has forecast rain in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next three days.
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority said a low pressure trough continues over the region. The trough extends from South Telangana through Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar.
The weather system remains at about 0.9 kilometres above mean sea level. As a result, several districts could receive rain during the coming three days.
In North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at some places. The weather department also expects lightning at one or two places.
Strong winds may reach speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour in these areas. Therefore, residents should remain cautious during thunderstorms.
South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema face rain
South Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers at some places on Monday.
However, the department expects heavy rain at one or two places on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lightning may also occur at isolated locations.
The region could also experience hot and humid conditions at a few places. Such weather may cause discomfort for residents.
Meanwhile, Rayalaseema may receive light to moderate rain or showers at one or two places over the next three days.
Strong winds could reach 40 to 50 kilometres per hour during rainfall in Rayalaseema. Residents should take care during thunderstorms and avoid exposed locations.
Telangana may also see light to moderate rain at isolated places during the next three days. The weather department expects the possibility of rain in several parts of the state.
Some areas may also experience winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. The combination of rain, lightning and strong winds could affect local travel and outdoor activities.
The forecast offers some relief from dry and humid conditions across parts of the two states. However, weather conditions may vary between districts.
Authorities have advised people to follow local weather alerts during thunderstorms. Residents should also avoid standing near trees, electric poles and other exposed structures during lightning.
