BRS MLAs Suspended for Remainder Of Telangana Assembly Session

Hyderabad, Sept. 9: Seventeen BRS MLAs were suspended from the Telangana Assembly on Wednesday for the remainder of the ongoing session.

The suspension followed protests by BRS members over the alleged treatment of women MLAs by police.

BRS legislators demanded an immediate discussion on an adjournment motion submitted over the alleged incident.

The MLAs raised slogans against the government and demanded justice inside the House.

BRS MLAs Demand Discussion on Women Legislators’ Issue

The protesting members moved towards the Assembly podium while raising slogans. They also demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy apologise over the alleged treatment of women MLAs.

The remaining BRS members continued their protest inside the House after the suspension.

They raised slogans against the government and pressed for a discussion on their adjournment motion.

The BRS has alleged that its MLAs faced attacks for questioning the implementation of government promises on the first day of the session.

The latest suspension has further escalated tensions between the ruling Congress and the main opposition BRS in the Assembly.
