Passenger Deboarded After Accidentally Touching Flight Emergency Exit At RGIA

Hyderabad, Oct. 2: A 35-year-old passenger was deboarded from a flight at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) after accidentally touching the emergency exit handle and triggering a sensor alarm.

The incident occurred on Thursday as the Hyderabad to Kadapa flight prepared for take-off. Airport police said the aircraft was stationary when the incident happened.

Passenger Accidentally Triggers Emergency Exit Alarm

According to an RGIA police official, the passenger accidentally touched the emergency exit handle while adjusting his seat. The action activated the aircraft’s sensor alarm, prompting airline staff to deboard him.

The airline staff subsequently handed the passenger over to the airport police. During an inquiry, officials established that he had touched the emergency exit unintentionally.

Police obtained a written statement from the passenger and later released him. No case was registered in connection with the incident.
