Pawan Kalyan Says 3D Printed Rural Housing Opens New Era

Hyderabad, Oct. 4: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said a new era in rural housing has begun in the state. He made the remarks after the launch of a three lakh house programme under PMAY G 2.0 in Guntur district.

Kalyan described the initiative as a step towards the goal of “Housing for All”. He also highlighted a pilot project using 3D concrete printing technology.

The pilot will construct 177 houses in Burripalem and Obulanayudupalem. The project is being implemented with support from the Union Ministry of Rural Development and CSIR CBRI.

Kalyan said the technology could improve construction efficiency, quality and reduce construction waste. However, official sources said the 177 house pilot is expected to be completed within six months.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for supporting the housing initiative. He also thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for supporting technology based housing programmes.

The Centre has sanctioned three lakh houses for Andhra Pradesh under PMAY G 2.0. The housing programme carries an allocation of Rs 3,600 crore.

Kalyan said the initiative would bring modern construction technology to rural areas. He added that it would support wider rural development across Andhra Pradesh.
