Jagan Vows To Bring About Reforms In Six Months
New Delhi, May 26 (Maxim News): YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said his government would bring in reforms in all spheres of life in the State within the next six months after assuming charge in the State. He said he would announce an action plan of his government immediately after swearing-in as the CM of the State. Jagan also said his priority would be to give corruption-free accountable governance in the State.
Addressing mediapersons at AP Bhavan after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jagan said he would continue to meet the PM till he achieved all legitimate promises made to the State by the Centre besides making efforts to achieve special category status to the State. He said he would have forced the Prime Minister to sign on the special category status had the NDA got only 250 Lok Sabha seats by promising to extend support to it.
Targeting the outgoing CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said his predecessor had taken Rs 2.57 lakh crore as loans during the last five years. He said the total debt of the State was at Rs 90,000 crore when the State was divided in the year 2014. Jagan said they were forced to pay Rs 20,000 crore as interest on the loans availed by Naidu’s government.
Commenting on his party’s manifesto, Jagan said he would treat it as a sacred book. He said his priority would be to fulfill all the promises made by them. He also said he would ban liquor sale in phases. Stating that liquor would be sold in five star hotels only in the State, Jagan said he would not seek votes of the people without enforcing total ban on liquor sales. (Maxim News)
