Karimnagar Roads Being Developed On Global Standards: Kamalakar
Hyderabad, Sept.12 (Maxim News): Minister for BC Welfare & Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar today assured that roads in Karimnagar District would be developed on international standards under Smart City program. He said the roads would have service life of 30 to 40 years as all roads are being laid with M40 grade concrete.
Launching the road works at Vidhyanagar here on Thursday, Kamalakar said there are 24 roads in Karimnagar town i.e. of 60’, 40’ and 35’ feet, and all the roads have been divided into three packages. In the first phase, works on five roads like Prathima-Collectorate, Shiva theater-University, Kisannagar, Ambedkar stadium-old PG college and Bhagath statue-Peddamma temple would be taken up and the remaining roads would be taken up after completion of the five roads.
The minister said according to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s guidelines, a comprehensive survey would be conducted before laying roads. He said CC roads would be laid only after completion of underground drainage. He also bemoaned that some people were creating hurdles by filing cases in court. Now, all the hurdles were cleared and tenders were also finalized, he added.
Kamalakar thanked the Chief Minister for recommending Karimnagar’s name for Smart City Program. Though the town was not eligible, the Chief Minister convinced Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also then Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu. He said the Chief Minister has special affection for Karimnagar and always gives top priority for the district which was in the forefront of separate State movement. (Maxim News)
