Huzurnagar Was Developed Only During Congress Rule: Uttam
Hyderabad, Sept 30 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy challenged TRS leaders to show a single development work which was done in Huzurnagar ever since their party came to power in 2014. He said entire development in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency was brought only during Congress regime.
Addressing a live programme on social media platform Facebook on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would withdraw from contest if TRS shows its contribution in development of Huzurnagar. He said after getting elected as MLA for the first time from Huzurnagar in 2009, he resolved the problem of low voltage and improved the conditions of roads. He said 12 Sub-Stations were established as there were no sub-stations of 130 kv or 13/11 kv. He Metpally Bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs. 50 crore to connect Telangana with Andhra Pradesh. However, he said even after six years that TRS Government did not sanction Rs. 6 lakh to construct approach road to the bridge. For the same reason, the bridge was not formally inaugurated.
Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that the construction of nearly 4,000 houses for weaker sections in Huzurnagar Town and Mandal near Fanigiri Ramaline was initiated at a cost of Rs. 200 crore. He said nearly 80% of the houses were completed during Congress rule. However, the TRS Government could not complete remaining 20% works in the last six years.
The TPCC Chief said it was due to the revenge politics that the TRS Government did not take up a single development programme in Huzurnagar. He said as the MLA of Huzurnagar he got a Degree College in the constituency. Earlier, students used to visit far off places to complete their graduation. Similarly, he said a 100-bedded hospital was established in Huzurnagar during Congress regime. He said the four-laning of Neredecherla-Kodad-Khammam was done during Congress rule. He said several schools were established during Congress rule which include Kastoorba School.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that there was not a single work done during TRS rule which benefitted the common people. He challenged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to show a single achievement. He said he was ready for an open debate on the issue of development of Huzurnagar.
The Nalgonda MP said that the TRS leaders were trembling with fear of an inevitable defeat in the bye-elections. For the same reason, they went to CPI’s headquarters Makhdoom Bhavan seeking help. He advised the CPI leaders not to trust the TRS leadership and support Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy to protect democracy in Telangana. He said that the CPI must support the Congress to protect the interest the people of Telangana. He also appealed to TDP and CPI (M) to withdraw from contest in favour of Congress party.
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS was misusing power and official machinery in Huzurnagar by-elections. He said several ministers, ruling party MLAs, MLCs and MPs were campaigning in the constituency while misusing official resources. He said Congress workers were being harassed using police force and they were being implicated in false cases. He said Huzurnagar had the reputation of being a peaceful constituency. However, TRS has created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation in the entire constituency.
