Conjoined Twins Tops In SSC Exams
Hyderabad: Proving that challenges thrown at them by life cannot deter them, conjoined twins Veena and Vani, who defied all odds to secure high grades in the SSC Public Examinations, have now decided to opt for the Maths, Economics and Commerce (MEC) stream in intermediate.
Veena had secured a 9.3 Grade Point Average (GPA) while Vani scored a 9.2 GPA out of 10 GPA in the SSC Public Examinations results announced recently by the Directorate of Government Examinations.
Speaking to Telangana Today, their mother Nagalaxmi said the twins wanted to pursue the MEC course for their intermediate education. “Veena and Vani want to do some computer-related job. They told me that had they appeared for the Class X exams, they would have got more marks,” Nagalaxmi said.
The twins had appeared for three examinations at the Prathibha School in Madhura Nagar here on different hall tickets. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic playing spoilsport, the State government had to cancel the rest of the exams and with the pandemic raging on, recently decided to pass all students on the basis of their internal marks.
The twins had earlier taken admission in the Government High School, Vengal Rao Nagar, and were taught by teachers at the State Home, where they began living in 2017 after staying in the Niloufer Hospital for 10 years. The State government is taking care of them.
