UoH Admission Entrance Tests From 24 Sept.

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) will conduct entrance examinations for admissions into various courses offered by it, on September 24, 25 and 26. The tests will be held in the offline i.e. pen and paper mode in 38 test centres across the country.

Addressing a virtual press conference on Wednesday, UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof. Appa Rao Podile said the university this year received a record 62,583 applications.

“We will conduct the university entrance tests on September 24, 25 and 26 at 38 test centres. Like every year, the entrance tests will be conducted offline. All necessary precautionary measures against the Covid-19 will be put in place at the centres. This time, instead of two sessions, the entrance exams will be held in three sessions,” he said.

Of the total 62,583 applications received by the UoH, highest number were from Telangana (28,612) followed by Kerala (7,019), Delhi (5,082), Andhra Pradesh (4,250), West Bengal (3,878) and Odisha (3,349) etc.

Among the applicants, general category constitutes (35.26 per cent), OBC (33.70 per cent), EWS (4.77 per cent), SC (17.37 per cent) and ST (8.90 per cent). Out of total applicants, 48.96 per cent are men, 51 per cent are women and 11 applications (0.04 per cent) are under the transgender category.

Course-wise, I.M.Sc (5-yr Integrated) Sciences (MA/PY/CH/SB/AG) topped with 6,189 application followed by M.Sc. Chemistry – 3,847, M.Sc. Physics – 3,161, I.M.A. (5-yr Integrated) Social Sciences (EC/HS/PS/SL/AN) – 2,953, M.A. English – 2,536 and M.C.A. – 2946.

A total of 2,456 seats are being offered for admissions to 132 courses. This includes 16 integrated courses, 41 PG courses, 15 M.Phil, 10 M.Tech and 46 Ph.D. programmes.
