Sell Onions As Rs.35 Kg: Niranjan Reddy
Hyderabad, Oct.24 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister, S Niranjan Reddy today stated that Onions being sold for Rs 35 a kilogram in Rythu bazaars in the city.
As the onions prices soar high and getting tears to people the centre has taken some measures against hoarders and traders. The traders and kirana shops sale a kilogram onions for Rs 90 to Rs 100 and causing much inconvenience to people.
The minister has asked the people to purchase the onions at all 11 rythu bazaars in twin Cities. We have instructed the marketing officials to provide adequate stocks of onions in these places, Niranjan Reddy said.
He also informed that each person can buy 2 kg onions in these rythu bazaars by showing any of identity cards. The government has made necessary arrangements during festival of Dasara for the same, he added. To avoid crowds and confusion the people can show any identity card to get 2 kg onions in rythu bazaars, the minister said. As the rains lashed across the country damaging onion crops we have made arrangements for its sale at low prices, he added.
Price of each kilogram onion is only Rs 35 and people can avail this facility, Niranjan Reddy said. The cost of the kilogram onion outside in the open market is Rs 90 to Rs 100. The people are feeling the pinch of high cost of the onions getting tears. (Maxim News)
