Hyderabad: The Petbasheerabad police on Sunday arrested a man on charges of raping, cheating and threatening a married woman.
The suspect, identified as Prashanth, and the woman’s husband were close friends and the former frequently visited the couple’s house.
Eventually, the victim and the suspect also became friends.
Police said he advised her to invest in his business and promised good profits. However he cheated her.
Recently, Prashanth went to the victim’s house in her husband’s absence and raped her.
He also threatened to harm her family members if she revealed it to anyone.
Based on the victim’s complaint, a case was booked and he was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
