Corona to remain in State till December, DHO urges people to take vaccine

The State government has said the deadly Corona virus would remain in Telangana till December this year. It made it clear that all people in the State should wear face masks to prevent the spread of the virus.

Stating that the percentage of the corona virus cases have gone up by 66 percent across the country, it said the State had registered 355 corona virus positive cases last week and added that the State registered 556 cases so far this week while noting that the corona virus positivity rate has gone up by one percent.

Director of Public Health Dr Srinivasa Rao said although the positive cases of the corona virus were going up in the State, there were no admissions of patients and deaths of the patients in the hospitals in the State. Stating that they had achieved 100 percent vaccination to prevent the virus, he said the sub variants of the virus were creating trouble in the State.

Making it clear that the corona virus has not completely disappeared from the State, he said the people should not worry about the growing number of the cases. He said the people should take all precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and added that the people who have symptoms like fever, headache and absence of smelling sensation should undergo the Covid screening tests.

Commenting on the onset of monsoon season, he asked the people to keep their surroundings clean in order to prevent the spread of viral fevers. He said they were holding door-to-door vaccine administration program from third week of this month and urged all those eligible people to take the vaccine. (Maxim News)
