Daily five-minute yoga, meditation in Telangana schools

Hyderabad: Every student in Telangana must practice yoga and meditation for five minutes each day. The School Education Department said on Wednesday that they can either practice it during the school assembly or afterward in the classroom. The academic schedule now features yoga and meditation.

Every third Saturday of the month will be designated as a no-bag day at all schools associated with the state board, according to the 2022–23 academic calendar that was issued on Wednesday. All courses in the schools must spend one time each week on communicative English skills. This time may involve English-language drama/skit, storytelling, newspaper reading, and other activities.

The co-curricular disciplines of physical and health education, job and computer education, value education and life skills, art and cultural education, have been given priority in the calendar. Primary schools receive 14 weekly periods, upper primary schools receive nine, and high schools receive eight. In these subjects, there will also be informal evaluation of the students.

The calendar states that the Formative Assessment (FA)-I tests must be administered by July 21 and the FA-II exams by September 5. The FA-IV should be held by January 31, 2023 for classes X and February 28, 2023 for classes I to IX, while the FA-III is scheduled to take place by December 21.

The dates for the Summative Assessment (SA)-I tests are November 1 through November 7. The SA-II test dates for classes I through IX are set for April 10 through April 17, 2023. Class X pre-final exams will take place prior to February 28. The SSC Board Exams will take place in March 2023. The school year ends on April 24, 2023, and from April 25 to June 11, 2023, there will be a summer break.
