Govt to construct new bridges at Moosarambagh, Chadarghat

Hyderabad, July 29 (Maxim News): Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav has informed that Rs. 52 crore and Rs.42 crore have been sanctioned for the construction of new bridges at Moosarambagh and Chadarghat respectively in the city.

Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Mahmood Ali visited the Moosarambagh and Chadarghat bridges which were closed due to heavy inflow of flood waters into Musi river and reveiwed the situation with officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the proposed construction of new bridges would be taken up under the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) to ensure that low areas are not inundated.

“The works of proposed new bridge at Moosarambagh will be commenced in next 10 days and no traffic is allowed for nine months on these route,” he said.

Stating that under SNDP, the storm water drain network in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits and its vicinity is being revamped, the Minister also promised that the retaining wall along the Musi river flowing areas would be constructed and completed by the time of next monsoon season.

Meanwhile, the Moosarambagh bridge was opened to the public and vehicular movement was allowed on Friday with the flood water receding in the Musi river. (Maxim News)
