Bay of Bengal low pressure | Amravati / Hyderabad, Oct 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said another low pressure area may form over the Bay of Bengal by October 23. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has warned that it could bring heavy rain to coastal Andhra next week. Isolated thunderstorms are also likely in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The IMD said a surface circulation entering the North Andaman Sea may cause a low pressure over the southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal by Friday. The system may move northwest and strengthen further over the next three days.
APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain said coastal Andhra may receive heavy rain next week. He advised fishermen not to venture into the sea from Sunday. Those already at sea should return before then, he said.
