3 Cases Of Omicron Sub-Variant BF 7 Reported Across India

Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 21 (Maxim News): It is reported that traces of Omicron sub-variant BF 7 which is believed to be the cause of the outbreak of the virus at a time when corona cases are increasing again in China are now also seen in India.

So far 3 cases have been reported across the country. The first case was identified by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center last October. So far, two cases have been reported from Gujarat and one case from Odisha, officials said.

Union Minister for Medical and Health, Manshuk Mandaviya held a meeting on Covid and said that the increase in total cases is not significant. However, it suggests that there is a need for regular monitoring of newly emerging variants. It is said that the Center has also directed the states and Union Territories to focus on genome sequencing.

According to official sources, the BP 7 variant is spreading mainly in Chinese cities, and due to this, the cases are increasing significantly. Experts are analyzing the fact that the immunity of the Chinese people is low and the vaccination capacity is also the reason for the rapid spread of BR7. (Maxim News)
