A Drug Racket Busted In Hyderabad: 3 Held

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) on Thursday arrested three people and seized drugs worth Rs 32.89 lakh in Hyderabad.

The arrested persons have been identified as B. Balaji, K. Venkataratna Reddy, and D. Murali. Balaji is a former Navy officer who turned drug peddler, while Reddy is a film financier and Murali is a government employee.

The police said that they received information about a drug party being organized at a flat in Madhapur. A raid was conducted at the flat and the three accused were arrested.

The police seized 2.8 grams of cocaine, 6 blots of LSD, 25 ecstasy pills (11.5 grams), 2 packets of ganja (20 grams each), Rs 72,500 in cash, two cars, and five mobile phones from the accused.

The police said that Balaji used to procure drugs from Nigeria and Bangalore and sell them in Hyderabad. Reddy was a regular customer of Balaji and used to organize drug parties. Murali was also a drug user.

The police said that the accused had been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). They are being produced in court.

The TSNAB has appealed to the general public to not fall prey to drugs and to report any information about drug trafficking to the police. (Maxim News)
