ACB Booked Nizamabad Excise Superintendent

Hyderabad, June 23: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday registered a disproportionate assets case against Kommuri Mallareddy,Excise Superintendent and District Prohibition and Excise Officer of Nizamabad, for allegedly amassing wealth beyond his known sources of income through corrupt practices during his service.

Acting on the case, ACB teams conducted searches on June 23, 2026, at Mallareddy’s residence and 10 other locations linked to him. The searches covered properties associated with his relatives, benamis, and other associates. The offence is punishable under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018.

During the searches, ACB officials identified five structures, comprising four residential houses and one commercial block. Additionally, eight open plots and 10.23 acres of agricultural land were detected across various locations.

ACB Detects Assets Worth Rs 3 Crore; Bank Lockers, Vehicles Seized

Furthermore, ACB teams found net cash of approximately Rs 3,31,000, along with bank balances amounting to Rs 50,00,000. Three bank lockers registered in the names of the accused officer’s wife and family members were also detected. Authorities will open the lockers during the course of the investigation. Moreover, a Grand Vitara car and a TVS Scooty were recovered from the premises.

The total estimated value of assets detected during the searches stands at approximately Rs 3,00,00,000. However, ACB officials noted that the market value of the immovable properties is expected to be significantly higher than their document value. Further verification of additional assets is currently underway.

As a result of the investigation, Mallareddy is being produced before the Hon’ble II Additional Special Judge for trial of SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally, Hyderabad, for judicial remand. The ACB stated that the case remains under active investigation.
