Tehran/internet/Hyderabad, Feb 24 (Maxim News): Tensions between Iran and the United States are rising day by day. In the face of the possibility of a US military attack on Iran, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is preparing for the survival of his country. It is reported that the responsibilities of political structure, survival and war management have been entrusted to Iran’s top national security official, 67-year-old Ali Larijani.
Larijani is likely to take over the responsibility of running the country in the event of an attack or assassination of the Supreme Leader. Ali Larijani currently serves as the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). The SNSC is fully responsible for the country’s security and foreign policy decisions. Ali Larijani served as a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
He has been in charge of national security since January, when anti-government protests erupted across the country. A founding member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Larijani headed Iran’s state broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.
Axios published a story quoting US officials that Trump had ordered the assassination of Khamenei and his son. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has recently issued instructions to Indians living in Iran to leave the country immediately using available means of transport, in view of the possibility of US attacks on Iran.(Maxim News)
