Amanullah To Launch Stir Use Of Urdu By Traders

Hyderabad, March 10 (Maxim News): Telangana Auto Drivers JAC Convener Mohd Amanullah Khan announced his decision to launch “Urdu Nahin- Kharidari Nahin” campaign from May 1 this year. He also appealed to all shop-owners in the twin cities and elsewhere in the country to write Urdu on their sign boards voluntarily.

In a statement today, Mohd Amanullah Khan regretted that while State Government made Telugu compulsory on the sign boards of all shops, the government was not showing interest to make shopkeepers to display Urdu sign boards. Khan said “Urdu Nahin-Kharidari Nahin” slogan will be given a wider publicity by writing it behind the Auto rickshaw tops in Urdu, Telugu and English. He also said it was a pity that the Urdu language, which was born in this country, was now struggling for its existence in its own birth place.

Amanullah Khan also alleged that the Central Government and the respective State governments, including Telangana State, were not taking practical steps to promote Urdu and the ruling TRS party leaders are rendering only “Lip Service” towards Urdu language. It may be mentioned here that Khan’s love for Urdu was not new as he went on indefinite fast for seven days for Urdu cause in the year 1988 at Charminar and was arrested by the Hussaini Alam Police for undertaking the hunger strike under the banner “Urdu Nahin-Kharidari Nahin”. He appealed to all Urdu loving people to consider the matter dispassionately and put their heart and soul in the proposed “Urdu Nahin-Kharidari Nahin” campaign and make it a success. (Maxim News)
