Amarnath New HCA President | Hyderabad, Feb. 3: Amarnath has been appointed as the new president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association following official orders issued by the BCCI Ombudsman here.
The decision fills the vacancy that remained for nine months after the arrest of former HCA president Jaganmohan Rao.
The HCA president post fell vacant after Jaganmohan Rao was taken into custody, leading to administrative uncertainty within the association.
Subsequently, Amarnath approached the BCCI Ombudsman, seeking appointment to the post. After reviewing his petition, the Ombudsman approved the request and issued formal orders appointing Amarnath as HCA president. Amarnath Lost 2023 HCA Poll by One Vote

The appointment follows the closely contested HCA elections held on October 20, 2023.
In that election, Jaganmohan Rao, representing the United Members of HCA panel, defeated Amarnath by a single vote.
Out of 173 total votes, 169 were polled. Jaganmohan Rao secured 63 votes, while Amarnath received 62.
As a result, Jaganmohan Rao assumed office at that time. However, after his arrest, the post remained unfilled. With the latest order, Amarnath now takes charge of the association, ending the prolonged leadership vacuum at HCA.
