Hyderabad: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday urged NEET UG 2026 candidates to appear for the re examination without fear, saying the National Testing Agency and all authorities had made full preparations to conduct the test smoothly.
With more than 22 lakh students set to appear for the NEET UG re examination, Pradhan said he had full faith in the National Testing Agency, state governments, district administrations and the country’s education system. He wished students success and asked them to write the exam with confidence.
Addressing reporters ahead of the examination, the minister said students should not worry and should focus on doing their best. He added that the government expected the examination to be conducted in a fair and secure manner following the controversy surrounding the earlier test.
Pradhan warns against actions that affect students’ mental health
Pradhan also cautioned against any attempt to create confusion or interfere with the future of students. He said irresponsible actions or misleading claims at such a sensitive time could affect the mental health of candidates and appealed to public figures to act responsibly.
The minister said nearly 22 lakh students would sit for the examination and expressed hope that their trust in the country’s examination system would remain intact. His remarks came hours before the re examination, which is being held after the earlier NEET UG 2026 test was cancelled following an alleged paper leak.
In a separate update, Pradhan said the results of over 15 lakh students who had applied for re evaluation and re verification of their CBSE Class 12 board examination marks were ready and would be released soon. He said the process was almost complete and assured that the re verified results would be published without errors.
The National Testing Agency has meanwhile advised NEET candidates to follow the entry schedule and carry the required documents. According to the agency, entry to exam centres begins at 11 am and the last entry is at 1.30 pm. Students have been asked to bring their admit card, a valid photo identity card and two passport size photographs.
The NTA also advised candidates not to carry prohibited items and urged them to stay hydrated, account for traffic delays and reach their examination centres early. The re examination is being held under tight security arrangements across the country.
