Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust Likely To Name First CEO Today

Ayodhya, Sept. 2: The Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is likely to select its first CEO on Wednesday from a shortlist of three candidates.The decision is expected at a meeting in Ayodhya that may also announce the trust’s secretary and other members.

The meeting will take place at Maniramdas Chhawani, where trust president Nritya Gopal Das resides. It is likely to begin at 2 pm.

Ayodhya Ram Temple CEO Selection Process Completed

The three member selection committee has submitted three names for consideration. The panel comprises retired Justice Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and expert member Suresh Hawde.

The committee received 5,585 applications for the CEO post. It later sent a 600 mark evaluation form to 3,577 applicants.

Of these, 108 candidates scored 470 marks or more and underwent virtual interactions. The committee later shortlisted 17 candidates before selecting three final names.

Justice Kohli said the selection process was transparent and fair. He said the shortlisted candidates have vision and understand the issues involved.

Trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri said the final decision rests with the Board of Trustees. He said the trust sought the panel’s help to identify an experienced CEO for the temple.

The meeting comes after vacancies arose in the trust following the death of member Vimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra and the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra.

Jagdish Aafle is expected to become the first secretary of the temple trust. Aafle, from Maharashtra, is associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and serves as the Ram temple construction project manager.

Aafle holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and an M.Tech from IIT Bombay. He has worked in India, Europe and the United States before returning to India after retirement.

VHP international general secretary Bajrang Lal Bangda may also be inducted into the trust, according to sources.
