Internet/Hyderabad, Aug 12 (Maxim News) Baloch separatist leader Mir Yar Baloch has called on countries and international organisations to recognise the “Republic of Balochistan” as an independent country, as supporters marked August 11 as “Balochistan Independence Day.”
In a message on X, he urged the UN, ASEAN, African Union, OIC and European countries to stop referring to Balochistan as a province of Pakistan.
Also, in Its Independence Day Message, ‘Republic Of Balochistan’ Thanked Indian Media.
The group claimed it was preparing for its own currency, passports, trade institutions and diplomatic missions.
However, Balochistan remains internationally recognised as a province of Pakistan, and Pakistan does not recognise the separatist independence claim. Allegations of security restrictions and military activity made by the group could not be independently verified.
The separatist movement comes amid a long-running insurgency and security crisis in Balochistan. (Maxim News)
