Union Minister Bandi Sanjay issued a stern warning to the Telangana government over the recent Pocharam firing incident involving cow vigilante Sonu Singh. Speaking strongly against how the case is being handled, he said that Hindu patience has limits and that mistaking it for cowardice would be a serious mistake. His remarks came after he visited the injured Sonu Singh, who is undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad.

Accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman, BJP deputy floor leader Payal Shankar, and other party leaders, Sanjay met doctors for an update on Sonu Singh’s condition. He assured that the Bharatiya Janata Party would bear all medical expenses and stand by the activist’s family. Later, addressing the media, he accused the Telangana government of pressuring police to construct a false narrative connected to the Jubilee Hills by-election and of defaming a cow protector to hide its inability to enforce the cow slaughter law.

Bandi Sanjay questioned how AIMIM leader Ibrahim obtained a revolver used in the attack and why the state police were allegedly targeting those who tried to prevent cow slaughter. He called the incident “dastardly” and criticized law enforcement for not implementing the ban effectively. He also demanded that the Director General of Police withdraw statements that he claimed hurt the cow protection movement and issue a public apology.

He further warned that if authorities fail to act lawfully, Bajrang Dal activists would not remain passive. Sanjay declared that they would continue lawful cow protection efforts and that any interpretation of restraint as weakness would invite a firm response. Condemning what he termed as propaganda by certain media outlets, he objected to reports labeling Sonu Singh as extortionate or linking the accused’s financial loss without explaining the origin of the weapon.

Concluding his remarks, Bandi Sanjay said that those responsible for cow slaughter must be caught immediately. He cautioned the state government that if it ignores enforcement, vigilant volunteers would continue their efforts, adding that patience should not be mistaken for fear.
