He alleged that their policies pushed the coal major into financial stress and created uncertainty among thousands of workers.

Addressing the BJP’s Singareni Bharosa Yatra public meeting in Kothagudem, Ramchander Rao said the Centre, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has focused on strengthening Singareni and securing its long term future.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy for allocating the Tadicherla II coal block to SCCL without conducting an auction.

According to Ramchander Rao, the direct allocation reflects the Centre’s commitment to protecting the interests of Singareni and its workforce. He said the BJP government has consistently worked to strengthen public sector coal production while ensuring the long term sustainability of SCCL.

Tadicherla II Coal Block to Boost Singareni

Ramchander Rao said the allocation became possible due to the special intervention of Prime Minister Modi and the sustained efforts of Union Minister Kishan Reddy. He noted that after the Naini coal block in Odisha, the Centre has now allotted the Tadicherla II coal block in Bhupalpally district to Singareni.

He said the coal block contains an estimated 182 million tonnes of coal reserves and is expected to produce around 6 million tonnes annually for the next 40 to 50 years. This, he added, would provide long term operational security for SCCL and offer stability to thousands of workers and their families.

Ramchander Rao further stated that the allocation would save SCCL nearly Rs 2,550 crore in auction premium costs. He also claimed the State government would receive around Rs 16,000 crore through royalties over the life of the project. Additionally, he said the project is expected to create more than 1,200 direct employment opportunities, besides generating indirect jobs in the coal mining sector.
