BJP Demands New GO To Do Justice To Tribals

Hyderabad, May 1 (Maxim News): BJP floor leader N. Ramchandar Rao said Telangana government to file review petition in Supreme Court which has recently struck down GO No.3 issued during united Andhra Pradesh to encourage education among STs living Agency areas of the state.

The Judgement of the Apex Court has led to unrest and disturbance among the tribal population in the Agency areas of Telangana State, Ramchander Rao Said.

He said that United Andhra Pradesh give issued the GO-3 in the year 2000 providing 100 percent reservation for STs in respect of appointments to the posts of teachers in the scheduled areas on the ground that it would promote education in tribal population.

Rao asked the TRS government to at least issue a new GO protecting the rights of STs and do justice to the tribal community who are agitated after the Supreme Court judgement.

Meanwhile, All India Tribal Federation (AITF) said that the supreme court judgement had created confusion among nearly 25,000 tribal employees who got job under the struck of GO. The AITF has said that as per Schedule V paragraph 5 (1) of the constitution the apex court judgement was not applicable to the scheduled areas and added that the TRS government was showing discrimination on tribal employees on the basis of the judgement.
