Botsa Tables CRDA Abolition Bill In Assembly

Amaravati, Jan.20 (Maxim News): AP Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday introduced CRDA abolition Bill in the Assembly.

Introducing the Bill in the House, Botsa explained the reasons behind the decision of the State government to scrap the CRDA, which was created for the establishment of the State capital. He said the State was divided into zones due to regional inequalities. Alleging that the previous State government had done nothing for development of the residual State, Botsa said the previous chief minister had decided to set up the State capital at one place without taking into consideration the views, needs and opinions of the people of the State.

He also alleged that the previous TDP government went ahead on the issue without taking into consideration the actual economic status of the State. He said the previous government took a unilateral decision without perusing the recommendations made by the Sivaramakrishnan Committee on the establishment of the State capital. He also said the State government had introduced the Bill to ensure development of all the 13 districts in the State believing in the overall development of all the five crore people in the State.

Botsa also said the Boston Consulting Group, GN Rao Committee and the high-power committee constituted by them have submitted their reports to the State government with a recommendation to decentralize the governance of the State for the equal and balanced development of the State. He also asked the State government to distribute the limited resources available at the disposal of the State government to all the 13 districts to ensure equal development of all. (Maxim News)
