BSNL upgrades 4G in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu circle of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is on an expansion mode and it has floated tenders for an estimated cost of 300 crore to upgrade its existing towers to next generation technology of communication, said V. Sundar, Principal General Manager, Coimbatore SSA, here on Wednesday.

BSNL has planned to install 566 4G mobile communication towers across Tamil Nadu. The Coimbatore Secondary Switching Area (SSA) will get its due share in this. As of now, the district has 464 3G and 632 2 G towers, Mr. Sundar said.
