Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): Tension prevailed in Bowrampet after unidentified persons allegedly poured petrol on a car parked outside the office of businessman Narsareddy Veerareddy and set it ablaze on Thursday night.
Veerareddy, the brother of TPCC vice-president Narsareddy Bhupathi Reddy, reportedly had a narrow escape as the incident occurred while he was present inside his office at GPR Layout.
According to preliminary information, the unidentified persons allegedly approached the office premises, doused the parked car with petrol and set it on fire. Veerareddy reportedly noticed the flames and raised an alarm, following which the suspects fled the spot.
The incident has raised questions over whether the attackers intended only to damage the vehicle or had targeted people inside the office.
There are also suspicions that the suspects may have conducted a recce before carrying out the attack, though police are yet to officially confirm this.
On receiving information, Bachupally police reached the spot and are examining CCTV footage from the office, GPR Layout and surrounding areas to identify the suspects, establish how many people were involved and trace their escape route.
Police officials are also likely to examine possible business disputes, previous enmity and other personal or financial issues to ascertain the motive behind the attack. (Maxim News)
